Wha say? Wha say?

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006

Hannah has been saying “What's it say? What's it say?” whenever someone is sitting down to read a book to her. Sarah has picked up on it. It's so cute!

She brings a book over to an adult, holds it up and says “Wha say? Wha say?” When the adult takes the book, she holds her hands up and says “Up!” If you don't pick her up, but instead open up the book and start to read, she gets more insistent. “I need up! I need up!” It sounds more like “Ineedup” all slurred together. LOL

O Christmas Tree

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

The other day we put the tree up after Hannah had gone to bed and only put the lights on. No ornaments and no star on top. We weren't going to bother.

When Hannah got up in the morning, she squealed and hugged Daddy, saying “Thank you, Daddy! Thank you! Thank you for bringing me Christmas!!”

Then she stepped back to get a good look at the tree and said “Oh, NO.” Charlie asked what was wrong and she said “The STAR is MISSING!!!”

We had to get the star out and put it up. LOL

Princess Bedroom a Success!

Thursday, December 21st, 2006

So far, at least. After a few nights of waking up in the middle of the night, weeping, Hannah is finally sleeping all night in her own bed in her own room! Yay! Last night was I think the 4th night in a row that we didn't hear a peep out of her until morning.

Now if we could only get Sarah to sleep all night…

Making potty training progress!

Tuesday, December 19th, 2006

Hannah has still been just sporadically going potty. Definitely not making any real progress. Only going on the potty if I catch her in those brief moments between waking up and going in her diaper, mostly.

Until just now! She was sitting watching a cartoon while I'm working. Suddenly she stood up and said, out of the blue, “I wanna go pee pee!”

We hurried into the potty, and she peed!! Yay! This was the first time she actually asked to go pee pee on her own. Maybe now we can make some progress!

Bottomless Pit!

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

Hannah is turning into a bottomless pit. All she does is eat, eat, eat. She just finished eating her cereal and banana less than 10 minutes ago. And that was after a granola bar and fruit snacks.

And now she's hungry. I say to her, “Hannah, you JUST ate!”

“I'm hungry again, Mom. I'm hungry AGAAAAAAIIIIIN. I'm sooooooooo hungry.”

Good grief!

Nuffing, Mom!

Monday, December 11th, 2006

Every now and then, I have to ask Hannah what she's doing, to make sure she's not getting into trouble or something. She, of course, answers “Nuffing, Mom!”

I guess I've asked her so often that she's anticipating it now. If I come around the corner, or turn around from working to look at her, I don't even have to open my mouth and she'll say “Nuffing, Mom!”

Yeah, right. A whole lot of “nuffing”, I'm sure. LOL

MMmm… pancakes!

Friday, December 8th, 2006

A couple nights ago we stopped for dinner at Taco Bell in between all our other errands.  When we headed out to the car after eating, Hannah started to run out into the parking lot, after being told to stop next to the car.  Charlie chased her down and grabbed her, putting her into the car.  As he was buckling her in (while I buckled up Sarah), he was telling her why she can't run out into the street.

Charlie:  You don't run out into the street, Hannah.  You could get hit by a car and that would really hurt a lot!
Hannah:  Get hit by a car?
Charlie:  Yes.  It wouldn't feel good at all.
Hannah:  And I'd be FLAT.  Like a PANCAKE!

It was all we could do to keep from cracking up laughing until we were able to shut the car doors and get around the back of the car where she wouldn't see us laughing at her.  Funny girl.

Early Christmas present!

Thursday, December 7th, 2006

Went Christmas shopping tonight and found the most beautiful coat.  It was at Old Navy and it was half off!  I tried it on and it was like “buttah”.  So soft!  Charlie said to get it and it could be my Christmas present from him.  (Knowing him, he'll still find something to put under the tree for Christmas morning though).

Here's my new coat.
