My little computer geek

Friday, January 26th, 2007

Now that I have a new computer for work, the “old” computer is set up on the other side of the room, so that Charlie or whoever, can use it. Hannah asks to play with the “pewter” a lot. It causes a lot of fighting between her and Sarah, though, so I only let her play with it when Sarah goes down for her afternoon nap.

It took her all of 5 minutes to learn how to move the mouse, point at what she wants, click, move the mouse where it needs to go, click again… such a smartie! She likes to play her Dora's Backpack Adventure game, which is on a CD, and she also likes the games at the PBS Kids website. I'm hoping she'll play more of the alphabet and number games so it will help her learn her ABCs and 123s.

Oh the weather outside is frightful

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

We have six inches of snow at our house! Charlie's boss said it hasn't snowed like this in 35 years that he's lived here. Schools are closing and stores closed early today - in fact, Charlie made it home by 3:00 this afternoon - he usually doesn't get home until at least 6:30. But since he was home so early, we packed up and headed out for some fun in the snow.

She's bilingual already

This morning the kids were watching Dora the Explorer and Sarah repeated several of the spanish words that Dora told them to say! And last night she tried to sing the ABCs with me. She doesn't do very well, not knowing most of the letters, but she gets A and B pretty good! LOL

Awww

I had to look something up in my medical chart tonight, and I happened across the operative report from my last c-section.

It said that the baby [Sarah] had her arms crossed across her chest and one finger in her mouth.

Awwww

Knock, knock!

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

Hannah just told me a knock, knock joke. And she actually did it in the right order! She used to tell the punch line in place of the answer to “Who's there?”. But she got it right today, all on her own.

Hannah; Knock, knock!
Me: Who's there?
Hannah: Oranges!
Me: Oranges, who?
Hannah: Um… Oranges are for EATING!
*hysterical laughter*

Both of them are growing up too fast.

Hannah is coloring a picture without scribbling for the first time! Not quite staying inside the lines yet, but definitely “coloring” vs. “scribbling”.

And as of last night, Sarah no longer calls me “Mama”. :( She is now calling me Mommy.

She is TOO SMART!

Saturday, January 6th, 2007

Sarah is just so smart! I can't get over it. She's not quite 18 months old and this is the conversation we just had.

(Sarah is nursing, and flexed her hand just right so that it pinched me)

Me: OW! Sarah, don't pinch!
Sarah: I sowy. *kisses where she pinched*
Me: Aww, thank you, babe.
Sarah: Ahhcome. *big grin*

How many 18 month olds do you know that says sorry and you're welcome???

Calories? I looooooooove calories!

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

Last night I was telling Charlie that I had a certain number of calories that I still needed to eat for my day. Hannah overheard me.

“Calories? Calories! I loooooooooooove calories! I love to eat calories!!”

*giggle*
