I tell you…

Saturday, May 26th, 2007

A couple of days ago Sarah was standing on the arm of the couch behind me while I tried to get our internet connection working again. (Another reason for our lack of updates, heh.) She started tapping me on the shoulder.

“Mama. Mama. Muk pweaaase.” (Muk = the way she says Milk, which means she wants some Mommy Conference Time.) ;-)

Mama keeps working on the computer.

“Mama!! MAMA! Muk! Pweaase!”

Mama keeps working.

“I TELL you PWEASE!”

Yes… she got her muk, right then and there.

Sorry for the lack of updates!

So here's a crammed-together-blog to get you all up-to-date at once.

May 4th we headed for California. That was a loooooooooong two days of driving. Flat tire on Day 1. Another flat tire on day 2. Kids complaining and wanting to stop a lot. Hot, hot, hot.

Sunday, May 6th we went to the Santa Ana Zoo. Not a major zoo, but it was worth it. Smaller and less crowded were two good points, making it an easy day for us with the little ones. Had lots of fun with the cousins, too. The highlights of the day seem to have been the elephant ride and the train ride - it's 3 weeks later and Sarah is STILL talking about them!

Spent the rest of the week visiting friends and family. Even though we didn't get to see EVERYONE we hoped to, we had a good time, and we'll be back again in August.

The drive home was SO much easier. The kids weren't whiny at all, it wasn't as hot, we didn't get any flat tires… we even got to our hotel early enough to go get some supper and then come back and enjoy the swimming pool and hot tub for a while before bed. That doesn't happen very often! We usually make it into the hotel at the half-way point around, oh, 1:00 a.m.

After we got home, we had a few days of hectic catch-up with work, laundry, etc. Nothing exciting.

Kids got sick last week - had a 24-hour bug of some type giving them a fever. Sarah weathered it better than Hannah - something about having a fever always makes Hannah pukey. At least it didn't last too long.

Sarah said something super cute a couple days ago, but it's getting it's own post - it was THAT.CUTE. Heheh…

Why, thank you!

Last Saturday we were having dinner at my parent's house. My Grandma's sister is here for a visit, so we were having a nice family dinner. There was lots of the usual complimenting of the meal going around… “Kimberly, your salad turned out very nice” “Charlie, your gravy is so good!”, etc.

Hannah held up a piece of bread. It was Squaw bread from Great Harvest. She then said “How do you like my bread?” and of course everyone replied that it was sooo good. She giggled and shrugged her shoulders and said…

“Thank you. I made it myself.”
