Heading South

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

It was iffy for a while, but it's worked out that we can make our trip south for the wedding of some dear friends of ours. We leave tomorrow, and will be gone for a week. Hopefully we'll have an easy drive - it's always hard on the kids, being 14 hours of actual driving time. There's no way we'd make it in one day, so we stop and spend the night somewhere on the way. We're hoping to be out of town well before noon and make it as far as Bakersfield tomorrow, which would give us a shorter day on Thursday.

So anyone in the San Bernardino/Loma Linda area, we'll be at church in Yucaipa this coming Sabbath. Maybe we'll see some of you there?

I'm being patient!

Friday, July 20th, 2007

All my life, I heard my Grandpa tell the story of a certain little boy (my uncle) who was asked to be patient. Apparently this little boy wanted something and was asked to wait patiently. Of course, he, being a little boy, had a hard time with that, and sat in the chair saying “Mama, I'm being patient. I'm being patient, Mama.” Grandpa loved to tell this story; it was something that made him chuckle for over 50 years. Now that Grandpa is gone, who's going to tell it?

I guess I am.

A couple weeks ago (I've been neglecting my blog, I'm sorry!), Hannah was sitting in her chair and asked for something. Mommy and Daddy were both in the middle of things, so Hannah was asked to wait patiently.

“Mooooooooom. I'm being patient! I'm waiting patiently!”
