So here I am, laying on the couch with my leg propped up and an ice pack strapped to my ankle. Not sure how bad the injury is, but I know it hurts! I stepped off the porch at a friend’s house this evening and hit the ground. I had landed with my left foot right on the uneven edge where the walkway met the flower bed, and my right foot on some wet, slippery leaves on the cement. My left ankle rolled and popped, I struggled to keep my balance, but failed. I was carrying Sarah at the time. At least I didn’t drop her! I couldn’t put any weight on it though, it was hurting quite a bit.
My friend’s daughter was there; she’s an ER nurse. She wrapped my ankle in an ace bandage since it was already swelling, and I hobbled to the couch on the crutches my friend offered. Sat there icing it for a while before heading home.
Had to stop by Wal-mart for a few essentials and used the electric cart. That was kind of fun but my ankle was pretty sore by the time I got home.
Oops my battery is dying, guess I better log off and charge it up.
Well, hopefully my recent issues with this blog are solved. Seems the security settings on the server kept randomly adding my ip address (as well as my brother’s ip address) to the blocked addresses for my site. I haven’t been able to get to my site, or my blog, at all. It’s been quite frustrating but I think James (my bro) has it straightened out now.
On to other things! I posted a blog a week ago and it looks like now it didn’t post properly, only leaving the title up. Sorry about that! It didn’t say much, just a brief run-down of what was keeping me away from my blog for so long. Basically: camping, brief illnesses, Adventurers, work work and more work, out-of-town company for one day (fun!), followed by out-of-town company for the week of Thanksgiving (fun, too!), etc., etc., etc.
This morning the girls wanted eggs for breakfast. Only they wanted special eggs. They wanted their eggs in the shape of a teddy bear. Yep, they found my mini-teddy bear baking pans and wanted their eggs cooked in those. So, I scrambled up some eggs, poured it into these pans and then placed the pans in a simmering water-bath, sort of like poaching them. They gobbled ‘em right up!
Heading out this afternoon to take a CPR class, followed by choir practice, getting ready for the Christmas Worship Service in a couple of weeks.
Yesterday the local Adventist tv station came out to film our church service. Mom and I had special music, so we’ll be on tv sometime in the next couple weeks, probably.
I guess that’s where I’ll leave off for today… I could make comments about all the other things coming up but then what would I have to blog about later?
